Be an Overachiever!

Hey, I found this at the side of my desk in Seremban and.....I'M HERE TO SHARE IT!

It's entitled "Aid the development of good study habits"!

Since some of you have test/exams coming up, and probably I might wanna read it too through my blog back in campus. Ahem. So, yea.. Here it is.. the list of good study habits. Enjoy and do apply it. Guess it works.

1. Study in a location free from distractions, interruptions and noise (no radio, CD players, television)

2. A clean desk, adequate lighting and good posture are important. Clear your desk of distractions like pictures, toys, mementos and clutter.

3. Make studying a joy and not a chore! (Actually I underlined this sentence though..Hahaha) Be positive in your approach. Begin your study session in prayer that God will use this time for betterment of your mind.

4. Personalize and apply what you are learning as much as you can to your life.

5. Do your hardest and most difficult assignments first. Easier work should be done last, when you are more tired.

6. Allow yourself rest periods or breaks. Study for thirty minutes, then take a five-minutes break. Return to your work promptly after five-minutes.

7. Realize that the most difficult part of studying is getting started. Do not wait for inspiration. Start it NOW and you will be inspired by the progress you make as you study.

8. Study as rapidly as is comfortable to you. Do not go too slowly; be active in your study and apply yourself. Be sure of your work, then keep going.

9. Observe the general rules of good health so that you are physically able to study. Get eight hours of sleep, eat well, exercise daily and keep spiritually in tune with God.

10. Look at school as a preparation for a good life. Each assignment is a step closer to success.

11. Be organized. Listen in class; take good notes. Concentrate and plan ahead.

12. Study with a questioning mind. Always ask: Who, What, When, Where, Why and How?

13. Take pride in your schoolwork for, while it does not reflect on your worth as a human being or child of God, schoolwork done well does exhibit admirable qualities.

14. The key to learning is repetition, review and reinforcement.

15. Even if you do not understand, make as effort.

16. Be aware of what the teacher is trying to accomplish. Demonstrate to your teacher that learning is going on. Show your teacher that you are progressing.

17. Acquaint yourself with other people who are enthusiastic, interested and excited about school achievements.

18. Do your part and God will do His part.

Yup. That's about all. Phew.

My Hair needs a makeover!

Back in Seremban even though I've been bombarded with much persuasions from people around for going back to my hometown on a mission to trim my hair.
Hey! It's essential. And as a matter of fact, I don't trust other hairstylist. Not that they are not good, but my hairstylist knows my hair best. Haha. Seriously. You wouldn't wanna be having bad hair days for an entire month, right? For girls, probably A YEAR!
Imagine that, BAD HAIR DAYS FOR A YEAR! Can mati! Flip over and mati again! I think even if you pray hard and ask God for His hands to be upon your hair, won't have much effect lar. Oops. I just underestimated God. Well, whatever it is, He still rocks..! All Christians shout "hallelujah".
Once reached Seremban, I changed into a more comfortable outfit and headed to the salon. Yes. I was excited. Say whatever you want. Haha. I'm not gonna show you my new hairstyle yet.
Mean while you can gaze at this picture of me with a cap. =P. Wuuuuuuu... Anticipation~~~~ Hahahaha. And I was given a very, very special price which other customers won't get from her. It was so worth it coming all the way back here man! SHE KNOWS MY HAIR BEST..! I won't deny it.. =P
Nahssssssss...Actually I bought a wig, will start wearing it on Sunday for church service. *grins widely from ear to ear*
And guys, I'm planning to sign up for Nescafe Kickstart again. =). Let's hope this time I get shortlisted for the interview session. *gulp*
Guess what! Yesterday I was supposed to have my Geography test but I got my notes one day before it. THE NOTES WERE FREAKIN' THICK MAN! Even with Flash Reading, I think it'll take quite long. I had perfectly no confidence or whatsoever when I went for the test and.. IT WAS CANCELLED! Woohooo...! Praise the Lord.
Not only that, yesterday I was down with fever, so obviously I won't be able to study much and today I was supposed to have Mathematics test in the morning. And..IT WAS CANCELLED AGAIN! Praise the Lord.
Sighs of relief.
Anyway, anyone has Ugly Betty series? Pls do lend me. =)
Trying to download High School Musical 2. Oops..! Shouldn't have said that. The download rate suckssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. Can just die man. Lord, please intervain!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! 2kb/s...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Faints..gets up 5 minutes later and faints again*
These few days, I just feel like staying at home... Hmmmmmm~~~~... Probably going out for yamcha with friends or something.
Going all the way to KL? Maybe not. In other words, I'M JUST LAZY! Hahahaha.. Besides, I'm broke..!
And I'm not allowed to rinse my hair. WHY??????????????????????????????????????????? I don't wanna have mushrooms growing on my scalppppppppppp.. *screams madly*
I'll be going back to Johore on Saturday. Foot-stop.

EMERGE KL 2007

Hallelujah! Finally I get to update my blog on Emerge KL'07. I've never been to an Emerge conference before, so I was a first timer. Well, I didn't attend CHCSG's Emerge either. Emerge KL was held at Sheraton Hotel, Subang from 29th to 31st. Yes, it was on Malaysia's National Day. We, the crazy bunch of UTM students went all the way to KL to attend this conference. 3 hours journey if you were to drive at 140 km/hr. Uh huh.. Do the Maths yourself.. Hahaha.. And we went only on the 30th. (Missed out the 1st day.. hu hu hu)

We reached Sheraton at about 7pm and it was about to start. The crowd was getting larger and larger. The atmosphere was great.
We were told that we cannot miss 'Talentime' on that night and we might also be going up onto the stage. Uh huh..

On that night, there were performances by Liu Geng Hong and Wingz, awesome singers from Taiwan. Liu Geng HongWingz

Then there was Beauty Pageant and Chin Ping was crowned 1st runner up. Bravo! She was brilliant when she answered the question thrown by the emcee. The question was : Who is your favourite prime minister and why?
YOU TRY ANSWERING THAT! Her answer blew all of us away man. ANYHOW, another girl answered, "I love all the prime ministers...", and won. *Sweat*
Few anothers even mentioned their "favourite" prime minister's name wrongly. *Double sweat*

By the way, we also had a representative for the Manhunt and ALL (seriously) thought he was gonna win. HE LOOKED SO SUPER DUPER KUPER ZUPER *speaks in tongue* GOOD ON STAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know he did one mistake which was, he didn't smile on stage, but as soon as he realised, he smirked, AND IT WAS AWESOME. If I'm a girl, I fainted oledi. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture with him.) He didn't win any prizes though. Saded.

The service ended at about 11.30pm? We bummed around in Sheraton, camwhored like nobody's business, and we chiaow for dinner, that also because Dev was chasing us away, Hahaha..N3 CG

We had our dinner till about 1am and headed to Holiday Villa to spend a night. Got a room with.. great view and it was.. quite huge. 6 guys in a room. RM255 for the room and it's actually quite cheap, right? no? According to Alvin, it's styled in a very...Victorian way. Oh, issit? *rolls eyes*
Next morning, our service was at CHCKL at SS13/6. Preaching by Pastor Kong Hee, dance and singing Competitions.
Oh yeah, Rhoda sang too. But I forgot which song she sang. LOL. Sorry, Rhoda. Amelia, me and Rhoda.

That night, ended the same way, couldn't recall much. I was actually sick on that day. Had a really bad flu. (until now by the way!) Here, the time schedule for the conference.
Pastor Kong reminded us to be relevant to the world that we may reach out to them and to look sharp all the time.
Tremendous ending for that night. Aiming for Emerge 2008!!!! Woohooo!

On Sunday that week, it was S.O.T (School of Theology) Graduation. We went there to support a few of our own CHOJB'S S.O.T graduates. DevSarahMei ChingNicky.
And a few more others. They were all glad. (Realised something, Dev and the security guy didn't smile..at all.. LOL)

Well, I wanna try too..!

Can't blame me. Mine's in 4 years time. Damn.

P/S: I was told that the StarCeleb SMS Voucher can be used nationwide. Start asking me how to do it and enjoy the offers.

Back!

I'm back from Emerge!!!!

I went totally broke during the conforence. I gave my all for Jesus.

And I was exhausted.. tired.. weary..worried.. On Saturday and Sunday, I was seriously tired when Devand Pastor kept asking us to pray stronger and harder during both services.

It wasn't easy. My body said no, but my spirit man said "c'mon, you can do it".

After that, I was down with flu and sorethroat, a little fever, I even skipped my class yesterday.

I feel better now. I feel stronger now. I feel like I can do all things.

Most importantly, I love Jesus even more.

*Will update blog on Emerge again.

Hahaha.. Cause' I went shopping! Nahs..nothing to be proud of...

Actually I went all the way to KL to shop is because of this voucher I received upon voting for Kanu.It was weird how my bunch of friends didn't believe me at first, they were like shooting at me..

"Scam issit?"

"Who's the sender la? sure boh"

"After my RM3.50 get cheated arh!"

"ARE YOU REALLY SURE ABOUT THIS?"

"You better go ask the Giordano people 1st"

Ok ok.. FINE! I went and questioned the promoters there. They assured me that the voucher is usable and they kept highlighting that my purchase CANNOT exceed RM200.00.She provided me the chance to get the Giordano voucher.

I KNOW LAR! I CAN READ FROM THE SMS OK!

Do I look blind to you! Just because you drew eyeliner you think your eyes bigger than mine issit! LOL.

So I happily went and choose my items, guess what, my friends surrounded me and went like, "eh, Jon, settle the voucher for me" and handed me their handphones. *rolls eyes*

Don't wanna believe me, RIGHT!

LOL. See who gets the last laugh now.... ME!

A hairdryer, a brush and my curly fringe

Can anybody help me?

Can?

Can?

I might sound really, really metro (or rather gay) but..PLEASE...help me straighten my hair..!

No no..! Not through rebonding.. Not gonna get chemicals involed here.. Anyway, my hairstylist won't rebond it for me. Hahaha.. She said all I need is the blow it. Some how or another, my hairstylist can do it perfectly! My fringe did not even curled a bit after she blew it for me. ARGGGHHHH...!!!!

I have a hairdryer.. and a brush.

There are all I need, right?

No matter how much I blow my fringe, it'll still curl up after a while. IT'S SO FREAKIN' IRRITATING!!!!

If one day, you see me with super straight fringe, that means I've given up- completely.

My cousin sister who came back recently from Australia went like, "YOU PERMED YOUR FRINGE??????????????" when she saw me.

  • Dulan

  • Oh yea, guys..my good friend from church joined ntv7's reality show, Star Celeb 2 months ago and she's now in top 60.

Soon, she'll be in the top 24.

If you happen to be at the site right now, she's number 59, Khanusha Shereen.

She has charming personality, intellectual, out-spoken, and the best part, she's not at all bad looking. She might even be the next Tyra Banks? Oh. I don't know. Hahahaha..

I assure you, that she's good. She has been working as emcee for countless events

C'mon vote for her through SMS.

SMS ‘my111 giordano 59′ to 33365 and receive a voucher for 50% off purchase below RM200 for all items at Giordano. Only applicable ONCE.

Let me just tell you, before you eye on the contestant and go like "I SHALL VOTE FOR HIM/HER, I DON'T CARE!!!"...go have a look at their blogs. Well, since you don't know them, or you've just seen them on stage, go read what they have posted on their blogs. (Clickable if you move your cursor to their names)

Ok, enjoy and indulge yourself in knowing these people. Personally, I've heard a lot from my friend.

Oh yea, the contestants you must not miss checking out(I didn't have time to read all their blogs, so whichever that caught my eye will be listed here) : Angeline Yap (no.06), Leo Ho (no.07), Li Su Lin (no.32), Min Li Lee (no.22), Darren Chan (no.49) *laughs madly on the floor*, and Miss.Kanulicious of course (no.59).

    It's new!!!

"If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!"

This song keeps ringing in my ear...!

I'm frankly quite happy cause' I got myself a brand new..SONY ERICSSON K810i...!!!

(Now! Toss me in the air..!)

I shall not toss my phone! No way! I bought it with my own money, can! It's my newest toy... *giggles madly at the phone...MY PRECIOUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.........

So, yea..I got it yesterday and was given loads of free gifts.

Apparently, the day before yesterday. I went to the shop and they told me it's sold for RM 1,380. Happily I went home, read the reviews again...and again...and again... Hehehe! (Well, I was excited, who wouldn't? Cheh!). Then I've decided I'd get the phone once I woke up yesterday morning. Waited all the way till night, dragged mum to come with me, got the cash ready, and headed straight to the shop.

Once reached, the workers there were definitely delighted.

Worker : Leng jai (in Canto it means "mr.handsome" they calls everyone that, so nothing to boast about), you came to get the phone?

Me : Yea.. (heart goes "lub dup lub dup")

Worker : Here.. (takes out the phone from display and handed over to me)

Me : Can I have a look at the one with golden ivory colour?

After that, the boss went around the entire shopping mall on the search for the phone with special colour I mentioned. She came back sometime later, breathing hard, "can't find any. Even V.S.Com doesn't keep stocks of this product".

Who the heck is V.S.Com? LOL.

So, I gave up and went ahead with the dark blue one.

The boss settled down after a while and mum went straight to the point.

"Lou ban leong (lady boss), no need to run around anymore. Let's talk business. Here, calculate the price"

Mum handed over the calculator, the lady considered for a while and showed what she typed on the calculator to us.

    WADDA.....*******

    RM 1, 430?????????

HOW COME IT'S MORE EXPENSIVE? Well, the worker did say the price was RM 1,380! After discount, it'll be probably RM 1,300? Well, round-up figure what! Mum is good at that. Hahaha!

Mum wasn't pleased. She showed her "displeased" expression (good at this, too), and went like "why is it even more expensive???? He (mum pointed at the worker) told us it was for RM1,380.."

The worker panicked and discussed with the lady boss.

The boss ran outta ideas and said, "okok.. I'll give you a 1gb SanDisk M2 memory card but the price will be RM 1,470"

That means a 1gb memory card for RM 30?

I took a glimpse at the price of the memory card and my jaw dropped all the way to the 19th floor of Hell (if it exist). It was like for RM 228????

Yes.... YES. DEFINITELY A YES. (nudged mum) SAY YES..!

In order to repay also for what they have put us through, the shock, the boss said to the worker, "Give him the cover guard, and the phone protector."

You know those plastic protector you usually see for SE phones. Yea..that..

Price for one cover guard... RM 15
...and for phone protector... RM 25

The worker did not show any grumpiness, rubbed the screen of my phone, put on the cover guard, and attached the phone protector.

Mum turned around and took a reddish phone cover to replace her old, ragged one. She pestered the worker to give it to her for free. And it was given to her for free. (Wow mum..)

I told the worker, I'd be needing a Digi number and I chose myself a good number to remember. =)

    It was for RM 8.50.

Guess what, mum further persuaded the poor guy to give this for free. (A bit too much ya, Mum)

The worker hesitated a little and said " ok lah ok lah..free lah free lah", went ahead to cancel the purchase off the receipt.

    I almost fainted man.

I put all the stuffs into the plastic bag and walked away happily after paying. Cash. Sighs. Sakit hati aku...!

Mum was glad too. SHE DIDN'T NEED TO PAY, OF COURSE!

    That was basically all.

Now, I use two phones. My old Motorola E398... and my brand new Cybershot K810i.

Picture quality wise...hmm.. see for yourself.. hahaha..What do you think? But I think I'll do just fine with Best PicTM and Photo FixTM.

Well, if all else fails, I STILL GOT MY ADOBE PHOTOSHOP. Hahaha...

    Till then, enjoy your day..!

    Erti Kemerdekaan

After much procrastination, I finally went to the salon and trimmed off excess hair. Hahaha! It was really getting out of control. So..yea.. Sorry, still no pictures.

Good news! Dad has been wearing the Adidas tee i bought for him for 3 consecutive days now. And yes, it stinks. I didn't sniff it of course!

Nothing much to update on me though.

Been thinking a lot on which handphone to get.

Planning on getting this one..!I desperately need a digi-cam and with Sony Ericsson k850i. NEEDLESS FOR ME TO CARRY ANOTHER BULKY CAMERA! If you're gonna tell me about quality wise compared to any cameras with 7.0 Mega pixels, then save your breath/saliva.

    And I've just gotten myself an mp4, so, I don't need SE's W-series.

It's a cool phone, right? Right? Hehehe... Go check it out on the website for the specifications.

    Mee moo maw!

I've just completed my essay for my Islam course. I shall now paste it here, hoping you guys can point out the mistakes or ideas which I should add in to make it even more bombastic. Hahaha!

Here it goes... (praying hard that non of my coursemates will visit my blog)

IF YOU'RE MY COURSEMATE, COPYRIGHT RESERVED!
    =============================================================

    Erti Sebuah Kemerdekaan

Jadi, sememangnya Malaysia belum memerdekakan diri lagi.

    Home Sweet Home

Wow. I'm back in Seremban! Wooohooo.. I can hear my mum mumbling all the time again, my dad telling me nonsense, sister cracking cold jokes etc.

The stuffs I got for my family members were given to them already.
    Adidas- Dad
    Bracelet- Mum
    Teddy- Sis

Oh well. My eyes can hardly open right now. It's freezing cold due to the rain. Mum is damn worried that I'll spend all my money on shopping. Btw, PADINI IS ON SALESSSS!

Yes, Rhoda! Plan 1st! Got it. Haha!

Good news! I signed up for guitar lesson in my church, and I'll b trained as a back-up singer. Yeahoo. I get to serve! I've not been practising my piano for a while now. Hahaha! Stiff fingers.

I came back to hometown with a coursemate of mine and we actually chatted quite a bit.

WE SHARE SO MUCH IN COMMON..! Wow! That's so totally cool. And get to know her a little more because frankly speaking, I always think that all the girls in my course have attitude problems. SERIOUSLY! Ain't lying to ya!

We really can't judge a book by it's cover, huh. Ok. Random.

I received a memo underneath my door today saying I've gotta shift to somewhere else, probably another room, since I've been staying alone without a roommate for 2 months already. Arghhh! I don't want roommate!!!! I've started to adapt to my daily routine and now they have to ruin it. #$#^%$&^&$%@%&.

I shall then carry a refresher around my waist 24-7 and spray at whoever's face if I could smell a stink from their body. Arghhh! Random too.

I seriously don't like people with B.O. Don't they know they have it????????????????

Can't they place their nose right at their armpit and sniff in the air trapped there? So hard issit? Want me to help????

Oh well. Tomorrow I shall be at the salon for my usual haircut. It's been a while I've seen my hairstylist. Yawnnn.. Eyelashes covering my cheeks already.. SLEEEEEPY

And I'm having an urge to start a new blog....A new start, I guess?

    PIKOM PC FAIR 2007!

Wheee... am back to blogging after a week.. i think? Anyway, these few days have been very enjoyable, putting aside the fact that I did not touch my books at all..BAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

Let me just summarize what I did from Friday til yesterday? yes..yesterday, Sunday.

Ok. PC Fair 2007 was finally here at City Square JB. So, ANY SANE PERSON WOULD SWAMP THERE! I went too.. cause' I'm sane?

I went to the place after lunch time to avoid the crowd (actually we were late.....).

On the way there, Tony told us that we only had 1.30 hrs for PC Fair cause' apparently one guy had to rush back for his sports practice. So..yea..

    I was thinking..1.30 hrs.....ENOUGH OR NOTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!

    Chee sin! (oops)

Anyway, despite being a lil' disappointed by the time limit, we reached CS and i was struck by a worst disappointment. THE PC FAIR WAS A SMALL-SCALE PC FAIR. *sweats til it floods*

    Wadda...................

Guess what, I used only 30 minutes to round up the entire PC Fair. IS THAT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN??????I thought I needed the entire afternoon. Dangggg......

Anyhow, I got myself an Edvan 2gb MP4 for RM148. Quite cheap right? Functions including recording, FM radio, movie, music, games, e-book,...er...that's all..haha.. No camera.. nothing else. NOW I CAN LISTEN TO 98.7 FM (SG radio station).. Yippeeee....

Then, Saturday I went for City Harvest service but we were late for it too. Service was at 5pm and we reached at about 5.30pm. EXPO 8 WAS SO FREAKIN FAR FROM THE CARPARK. Goshhhh.. but the walking was worth it. Hahahaha.. Service was great, but during sermon I was sleepy like anything..

Jon : Rhoda, am so sleepy
Rhoda : (jotting down notes) ... me toooo........
    Jon : ( DANGGGGGGGGGGGGG )

I was expecting Rhoda to give me some motivation to wake up but instead....hahhahaha....

After the service, Amelia and Rhoda wanted to get bibles from Attributes, and it was not like I had a choice, I had to tail everywhere they go. Hahahaha.. And I found something really nice for somebody from Attributes. Whooooo...! (Actually it's not really that nice.. BUT IT WAS DARN EXPENSIVE OK! Oops..I still owe Amelia SG$4. Oopsie doopsie.. )

Cheok Miin drove us back to Skudai and we had our dinner at some "famous" laksa store.

She told us it was famous but when I tried it, it wasn't really that nice. Perhaps the one in Kemayan Square, Seremban taste better. Hahahah.. but really!

YOU CAN ONLY FIND GOOD FOOD IN SEREMBAN MAN!

Beef Noodle! Siew Pow! Laksa! Rojak! Yee Poh Lao Shu Fen! Kung Fu Mee!

Look at that!!! BEAT THAT WEI! Hahahaha..

    I miss Seremban.

    Sunday.

I went for CHOJB's sunday service (as usual.. oh yea, it stands for City Harvest Outreach JB).

After service, all of us went to CS. Apparently the church is in a hotel and the hotel is located right beside CS. Ha! Since PC Fair was still on, the guys went to scout for gadgets but I already gotten mine. so, kinda useless for me to squeeze myself into the stinky crowd again, right?

Instead I went shopping with Amelia and Rhoda. Hahahaha.. in 3 hrs time, we only visited 3 shops. I know.. you'd probably be going like.."wadda".. yes, as soon as I realised that, my conscience did that too...

Oh yea people, THERE'S SALES IN PADINI!!!!!!! Everybody gooooo!!!!! Hahahaha...

I bought 2 tees and a khakis. So..yea.. that was basically what happened for the passed 3 days.

I'm so freakin tired now after my fieldwork and there's another 2 more hrs of lecture in...let's say...10 minutes time...yawnnnnnnn....

I'm gonna stop here...Let's hope I could online from my room later.. Yawnnnn again...

    Take care people!

    F.O.P 07

Arghhh.. I'm in the library right now and what I'm supposed to do was to copy what I blogged in my room on Microsoft Word and copy it here.

Unfortunatelyyyyyyyyyyyy.......! The library's pc do not have Microsoft Word. Wadda.....THROW AWAY THE PC LAR...! Their WordPad or NotePad couldn't even read the format of my file.... double wadda.........

Arggghhh... So anyway, I went for Festival Of Praise in SG and it was awesomeeeeeee...

I actually went on Saturday but it was fully packed! I tell you, Singaporeans all...dishhhhhh...

Anyhow, the five of us who went were given special passes and was reserved exclusive seats the next day. So cool, right. We didn't intend to go again on Sunday cause we agreed not to... Bob exceptional. He was keen. He was consistent. And he convinced the driver to go. I was half-hearted and I agreed to. Rhoda tagged along. Amelia wasn't really keen at first but after much persuasion and dragged God into the picture, she came along.

    Hahahahahaha...! Sorry God. Hehehe..

Since Amelia is in her final year, she was stuffed with millions of assignments and God-knows what she has to do, so what I told her was simply "now is the time to trust God, Amelia. Besides, YOU GET TO SEE DELIRIOUS? AND DON MOEN LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

    Coolness, right?

The gang who went on Saturday went again on Sunday. SAME GANG! SAME SEATINGS IN THE CAR. DIFFERENT ATTIRE. (of course, we all bathe don't we, ahem)

We had a great time fellowshipping with one another and had the best time joking around. I tell you, these are the people you wanna meet man...! Tony, Bob, Amelia and Rhoda. Woohoo..!

But poor Tony, he had to drive on both nights. Since I suck at manual cars, and I guess Tony wasn't feeling quite secured letting someone else to drive his car. So....yea...he drove...

I'll be getting City Harvest's latest album soon... Yeeeha!!!!

Last but not least, F.O.P was great....! Tks Delirious? ..! Tks Don Moen..! Tks Pas. Phil..!

*Sorry guys, I couldn't get any pics for F.O.P.
